Galaxy Fit 4 Leaks in Three Colors // Samsung Keeps the Same Formula

Samsung's next budget tracker has just shown up in full, and the honest summary is that it looks exactly like the last one.

Renders of the Galaxy Fit 4 surfaced today in black, white and a mint green, pulled out of Samsung's own app package. They show the same stretched rectangular display with rounded corners, the same single physical button on the right, the same silicone strap with a buckle, and the same rear sensor layout with a pill-shaped optical sensor next to the charging contacts.

There is no redesign here. If you held a Fit 3 next to a Fit 4 render, the giveaway is color, not shape.

What the leak actually shows

The renders come from a teardown of a Samsung app, and they cover the band in three finishes:

  • Black with a dark grey frame
  • White with a silver frame
  • Mint green, a new colorway that replaces the Pink Gold option from the Fit 3

The watch face artwork in each render matches the strap color, which is a change in how Samsung is presenting the default face rather than a hardware shift. Everything else in the visuals is carried over. Android Central, Digital Trends and Notebookcheck all landed on the same read within hours of each other, which is what you'd expect when the source is Samsung's own asset library rather than a supply chain leak.

The regulatory record is more informative

We already knew the shape from the paperwork. The device filed with the FCC under model SM-R391 and FCC ID ZCASMR391, with Samsung's exhibits named "FIT4 Label" and an application date of August 4, 2026. The FCC record lists it simply as a "Wearable Device" with one transmitter in the 2402 to 2480 MHz range, which is Bluetooth LE and nothing else.

That single-band listing matters, because it's the strongest hint yet on the question Galaxy Fit buyers keep asking. There is no GNSS radio in that filing, and no NFC. A standalone GPS chip would need its own frequency authorization, and it isn't there. The Fit 3 shipped without GPS and got criticized for it, and on the current evidence the Fit 4 repeats the omission.

The same device has also turned up in Bluetooth SIG and India BIS listings under the same model number, so this is a product moving through certification rather than a mock-up. Bluetooth 5.4 is what the filings point to, up from 5.3 on the Fit 3. Earlier documentation also pointed to a Goodix GH3036 optical sensor for heart rate and sleep tracking, replacing the older sensor in the Fit 3.

Samsung has been testing production components too, including the battery and multiple charging bases, which is usually a sign that launch is closer than the paperwork alone suggests.

What we still don't know

Three things decide whether this is worth an upgrade, and none of them are in the leak:

  • Battery capacity. The Fit 3 claimed up to 13 days. Samsung has not published a number for the Fit 4.
  • Display and materials. The Fit 3 used a 1.6-inch AMOLED panel in an aluminium body. If that carries over unchanged, the render leak looks accurate.
  • Price and availability. The Fit 3 launched at around $60 and has been discounted heavily since. Samsung has not said anything about the Fit 4, including whether it will sell in the US at all.

The US question is not hypothetical. Samsung's budget band line has skipped or delayed markets before, and none of these filings name a launch window.

Why Samsung is playing it safe

The Fit 3 didn't have a design problem. It had a software and positioning problem: a bright, well-built band that cut fitness features you'd want from a tracker in that price bracket, and shipped without GPS for outdoor workouts.

A visual refresh wouldn't fix any of that. Samsung keeping the chassis and changing the sensor and the radio suggests the Fit 4 is a component update with a new colorway, priced to stay at the bottom of the Galaxy wearable stack. That's consistent with how the company has handled its other recent non-Wear OS device, the Galaxy Aero, where the pitch is simplicity rather than capability.

If you want the smartwatch experience from Samsung instead, the Galaxy Watch 9 is the real product line and the one that gets the health features, including the US blood pressure rollout we covered in April. The Fit line exists to sit beneath it.

Bottom line

The Galaxy Fit 4 is real and it is close, but today's leak is a color story, not a spec story. Mint, white and black, a new optical sensor, Bluetooth 5.4, and an FCC filing with no GPS in it.

If the lack of built-in GPS is why you skipped the Fit 3, nothing in this leak says that changes. And if you're shopping for the current model, the Galaxy Fit 3 is still on sale and is now working from a very close design specification.

The one thing worth watching is the launch window. Samsung's filings are complete enough that an announcement in the next few weeks wouldn't be a surprise, and the price is the number that decides whether this is a competitive band or just a new colorway.
